Who doesn’t love shopping trips when you can welcome in the Autumnal weather while taking sips of a creamy hot chocolate on a city break? Weather can be sunny with wind and perhaps a little rain, which is why wrapping up warm has never been more essential. We know what you’re thinking: It can be a little tricky to layer up accordingly while looking stylish, but it’s much easier than you think. Mixing textured pieces and getting the right balance is all about the types of material you team together to make an Autumnal outfit. You can play with lightweight and heavier pieces, depending on how cold it is outside, to make a cosy, casual outfit that will be comfortable from day to early evening.
The Textured Knit
If it’s a really cold day, making sure you’re cosy is an absolute must. Our Aisha Cowl Neck Dress takes all the fuss out of your style equation because it’s so easy to style. The cowl neck is a great way to get the cover-up of a scarf without having to add one, meaning you’ll be comfortable if the weather takes a turn for the worst. This dress sits just above the knee, which means you can show a little bit of skin. We thought for Autumn/Winter, adding some thick black tights and suede boots are a perfect way to make this outfit sophisticated and chic. If you want to add in a little bit of colour, a black suede bag with a subtly contrasting navy colour is a way to tie the outfit together and give it a classic edge. Finish off the look by adding two coats of navy nail polish to welcome in the new season, and you’re ready to go.
A Touch of Taupe
For slightly warmer days, you can layer up a day look with a silk blend scarf and accessories to match. We love our new Lu Asymmetric Layer Top because it subtly updates a classic go-to style. This can be worn with fitted trousers or tapered chinos, but we love it with fail-safe slim jeans. Add warmth to this look with a taupe bag and boots match perfectly with the scarf that add a modern edge. Taupe is going to be everywhere this season, so this is a perfect on trend outfit you can rely on from day to evening. If Autumnal days end up being a little too warm, you can always tie the scarf around the bag as a unique accessory when you’re out and about shopping in the city centre.
A Subtle Sparkle
If you’re looking for an ultra relaxed outfit that still looks feminine and modern, adding a lurex knit into your look is a great way to be on trend yet comfortable. Lurex knits are huge this Autumn/Winter and have been seen all over the catwalk as dresses, skirts and more. Our new Kiera Chiffon Trim Top ties in with this trend yet is still very subtle. The ivory and light pink stripes feature a sparkle that amps up any outfit. Teaming this with our thick Olivia Treggings add warmth to your afternoon of shopping and our lightweight yet incredibly soft Kristen Bomber Jacket adds a rich navy into the mix. Show off the burgundy stripe by wearing the same colour satchel, shoes and a light swipe of a dark red lipstick.
